Keep swinging for the fences

By Rusty Potter

I encourage you to “swing for the fences”. This baseball term means giving 100% of your energy to hit a home run. It also means trying your best, scoring big, and maximizing your effort to achieve something great. My dad (Earnest Potter) once told me ” If you want a job, be the first one at the job before the doors open in the morning”. When you swing for the fences you show up early and do more than is expected. Our expectations will set the limits for our future. We have the ability to mold our life each day. Every day is a new opportunity for you to show the world your greatness. Make a commitment every morning to waking up early and exceeding your expectations. You will learn that you are capable of more than you can imagine.

Nelson Mandela said, “There is no passion to be found playing small, settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” I encourage you to keep swinging for the fences. The ability to win begins with you. The rewards will be great. The person that has the power to change your life is the one you look at in the mirror each morning.
