Jackson’s push for millions for anti-abortion expected to pass into law

Senator Katrina Jackson-Andrews, is co-sponsoring legislation that would dramatically increase public funding for anti-abortion pregnancy resource centers in Louisiana. It’s a Republican issue that is sailing through the legislature.

The bill from Jackson-Andrews and Republican Rep. Jack McFarland would require all money for the state’s Alternatives to Abortion program to go through a single nonprofit organization before reaching the pregnancy centers. The amount of funding would jump from $1 million currently to between $3-5 million next fiscal year.
