Hundreds line up for food give-a-way

Hundreds lined up to receive one of the thousands of boxes of food that were distributed to the public Monday at the Monroe Civic Center. Among those volunteers were young people from the America Corps. The community thanks you for all you do.

The food distribution was organized by the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank and attracted residents who formed car lines that wrapped around the civic center. Some waited for more than two hours to get the boxes that included frozen chicken, canned foods, cooking oil, vegetables, fruits, and other food supplies. The distribution, while long, was very well organized.
