Children of the most high God,
It is a privilege as well as an honor to share with you what God has shared with me through his word.
I am honored to be a part of the body of Christ. I give him glory and honor for allowing me to express my heartfelt joy with you through this message.
At some point in our lives or even presently speaking, we may have asked the question, “How do I know when God is speaking to me?”
In other words, how do I discern the voice of God from outside forces or people?
However, it is essential that I inform some people and enlighten others that individuals who desire to know the voice of God must study his holy word.
If you really want to know what God is saying to you, focus on his word.
If you want to know what direction you should travel, build a relationship with him by committing to a life of studying, reading and meditating on the scriptures.
Believe it or not, I have asked myself the above noted question on many occasions; consequently, I did not discover how God is speaking to me until I began an in-depth study of his word.
During the days of Moses, Isaiah and many other prophets, God spoke audibly to them.
Although he may not speak to us in the same manner, he finds a way to communicate with us in ways we can comprehend.
We must always be ready to adhere to his spoken and written words as we journey through this life.
In 1 Samuel, the writer recorded the account when God called Samuel; yet, Samuel did not recognize God’s voice because he “did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him”:(1 Samuel 3:7).
Samuel thought that Eli, the priest, was calling his name and sought to find out what he wanted.
Eli assured him that he was not calling his name. But, told Samuel the next time he heard his name, “…if he called thee, that thou shalt say, speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth”.
So, Samuel was able to hear God’s voice and receive his calling as a prophet.
Be careful when people contact you with a message they claim is from God. Pray!! If the message does not coincide with the word of God, disregard it. If we want to know whether God is speaking to us, we must consistently pray and “Read our Bible”!
