Scripture: The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw. O Lord, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “Violence!” And You will not save. Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises.
My prayer for you today is that you find comfort and hope where there is uneasiness that brings about questions that you seek answers for. Let us honor and thank God for His grace that shows up and provide unmerited favor and mercy that holds back the punishment that we deserve. Thank Him for Jesus, our Everlasting, Eternal and Endless Savior!
What is your reaction to what is happening in our world today? How do you feel when there is the threat or action to terminate the support for the poor and oppressed while cutting medical resources that have given people an opportunity to have some comfort in their health issues. Perhaps these actions have you in a place in your life where you question whether God is going to step in and right the wrongs or does God really know what is happenings? In other words, does God see the violence; and will He do something? Well, the One to ask these serious questions is God, Himself.
In our aforementioned Passage of Scripture, Habakkuk was “burdened and saddened by the corruption he saw around him. Emotionally, Habakkuk cried out and poured out his heart to God through questioning God’s intentions. Of course, God had the answer and responded to Habakkuk letting him know that he will yet do unbelievable acts that will astound him (Hab. 1:5).
Regardless of the situation and what it appears to be, God has an eye that never sleeps. He sees all and knows all. There is nothing that is hidden from Him. The Hebrew writer declares “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account” (Hebrew 4:13). Even though we may not fully understand what’s happening in the world and struggle with doubt, we can be certain that God is willing and ready to hear your concerns and questions?
The Word of God affirmed that even in the midst of chaos, we can go to God with our struggles and doubts. He is at work and will accomplish great things that would astound us. We must keep in mind He is always there to answer our greatest concerns.
