As the summer approaches and children will be out of school, 15 states have opted out of the USDA Summer Feeding Program for Children. Some states are: Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, etc.
The words of Jesus in Matthew 18 and 19 (kjv) remind us of what GOD says about His little children!
Matthew 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” 4 “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” 5 “And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.” 6 “But who so shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea”….. 14 “So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of His little ones shall perish.”
Matthew 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
Let us remember God is not pleased with how some of us treat one another – especially His little children! Dear Lord, Thank You for the States which have chosen to feed Your Children Your Food!
As the song written says, “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and Yellow, Black and White, all are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the children of the world!”
Yours in Christ, Rev. Jacquelyn Simmons
