God gave me keys to his kingdom in nineteen seventy-six (Part 11)

By Dr. Jacquelyn Simmons

Scripture: When Jesus came into the Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16: 13-19).

After my friend reluctantly drove us to her neighbor’s home, and we were greeted immediately after she rang her doorbell. It gave me the impression that she had been forewarned of our upcoming visit. She cordially but curiously invited us to enter her home but was accompanied by two small smiling children who were introduced as grandchildren. At first, I was kind of puzzled because God had told me to bless one child-a little boy. My very reluctant driver and curious hostess took a seat on the kitchen stools, and I prayerfully, but playfully chatted with the two children by touching them and saying, “How old are you?” “Where do you live”, etc.? They gave me very intelligent answers and were not shy at all.

After completing my God assigned mission, I joined our hostess and friend by sitting on the kitchen by making small talk. Finally, to the relief of all of us, I announced our exit.

My driver and I returned to my home in silence while probably inwardly wondering why and what? A couple of days later, my escort called me via phone and said, “You won’t believe this because I am having difficulty believing it myself.” “My friend we visited the other day called me and said that the little boy almost drowned in the family’s bathtub and the little girl tried to alarm the grandmother who was not paying attention to her pleas at first because she was talking on the phone and had been trained to interrupt during phone conversations.” But she kept disobeying her until she was able to get her full attention which saved the little boy’s life. Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! How frightening, but fascinating. God! God!! God!!! That was the first miracle God gave me to perform. It was frightening and astonishing but True!!! However, it does not end there…
