Friends mourn death of Randall L. Bishop, Sr.

Family and friends are mourning the death of a Monroe man who died this week.

Bishop will be remembered with a brief service at Smith Funeral Home, however, the service will be for family members, in compliance with Covid-19 social distancing protocols.

His official obituary read as follows:
Randall L. Bishop, Sr. “Ramp” of Monroe, LA., transitioned Sunday, May 24, 2020. He was born May 6, 1953, the son of the late Ulas and Addie Bishop.

After months of failing health, he died peacefully. His presence on this earth will always remain in our hearts, and the memories we have of “Ramp” will be with us forever.

He is survived by Gloria Anderson Bishop, their two sons Randall L. Bishop, Jr. (Brittney Billups) and Ahmand R. Bishop (LaToyia Minor); one daughter Tanisha (Jacque) Wolfe; three sisters: Ethel L. Sims, Ella A. Sims, and Merell A. DuCree; two brothers: Nathaniel Anderson, Jr. and James E. Anderson. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation (drive-thru) will be held Friday at Smith Funeral Home, 907 Winnsboro Rd, Monroe, LA 71202, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Due to the Coronavirus, the services will be private.
