Scripture: If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:13-14).
My Friends,
The aforementioned text is a partial account of the Lord’s promises to Solomon after the dedication of the new Temple. They apply to us today as well because we are his children, also. However, our sins are more sophisticated now than then due to much God inspired, improved technology. But in the all-seeing eyes of God, sin is sin and he is no respect of persons (Romans 2:11).
Today, some of us plead to God as did they, begging forgiveness while continuously escalating our blatant sins. Some of us are foolish enough to make promises to him to improve in a “mighty way” our behaviours and drift further backwards in our sins.
My friends, even though, not perfect, God has chosen me among others to warn you of his intended pestilence he plans to send among us in order to continue his efforts to get our attention and change our sinful ways.
And now my friends, let us revert to the real purpose of this message. God said, “Look for his pestilence in unusual places and ways.” Be sure and purchase some magnifying glasses in order to make sure we see his “bugs” on toilet tissue, paper towels, napkins, dry towels, bed linen, mail deliveries, hamburgers, especially on the lettuce. In fact, in most foods. They appear as black pepper and believe it or not, they are almost impossible to kill. We finally killed one in the microwave.
From what this writer is hearing from others, it was very difficult last summer to stand or work outside for awhile and drive due to love bugs and mosquitoes. The love bugs have also made their way to colder sections of this, God’s country.
Some of the ways we may be allowed to ask God to take away his planned plagues against us are: 1) remove all Halloween celebrations from our calendars; 2) focus all Christmas celebrations on the birth of Jesus Christ; 3) celebrate Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday and not other foolishness such as eggs, rabbits, green grass, chicks, easter egg hunts, etc.; 4) train our children to celebrate Thanksgiving in our traditional ways instead of focusing on bowl games, partying, parades, etc.; 5) return the discipline of children to homes and schools instead of relying on the penal system; 6) fathers assume greater responsibilities in assisting mothers in the rearing of “their children”; 7) ministers make God’s congregation aware of the fact that “hell is real” and its fire is prepared for the unrighteous. Even though it is not a popular sermon, tell them, “HELL IS REAL” (Revelation 20); 8) stop looking to cell phones for guidance but look to God. Oh my friends, the list is endless. But the aforementioned list is just a beginning. Pray!!! By the way, my friends, be ye warned, pestilence is not confined to bugs. It is terrorizing and indescribable. Pray without ceasing (1Thessalonians 5:17). We are on the verge of a great crisis.
Love you much,
Jacquelyn Simmons
