The Monroe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority is sponsoring the fifth annual Community Baby Shower on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the St Francis Conference Center – 418 Jackson Street (across from the ER). This year’s theme is “Share some Baby Love”. We are planning a shower of knowledge and a display of community resources for new and expectant mothers. We are calling all who are currently pregnant, desire to be pregnant, or recently delivered within the last year to come to the shower.
There will be lots of community resource information along with coupons, discounts, and door prizes for the attendees. The shower is hosted by the Monroe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. This annual event is sponsored by St Francis Medical Center, Dr. Tonya Hunter at The Well Woman Center, The Children’s Coalition, Wellness Initiatives, LLC, The March of Dimes, Kimberly Caldwell DDS, and The Nurse Family Partnership.
There will be several tables set up with brochures and information from the Louisiana State Troopers – Troop F Car Seat Safety Program, The La Leche League will be present to answer your questions about breastfeeding. Several hospitals and providers will be present to share their services. The Bayou Health plans will also attend and offer information about their plans to the new and expecting Moms. There will be representatives from the WIC office, Meade-Johnson (the makers of Enfamil baby formula), Dr. Katina Beverly – pediatric dentist, and area photographers offering their maternity and baby packages.
Couples are welcome. Come join us for a shower of knowledge as we cover ALL THINGS PREGNANCY on this coming Sunday afternoon.
We will also receive donations of new or gently used baby items for infants under 1 year of age from now until the shower on Sunday. These items will be given away at the shower for those moms who may need some Baby Love!!! The drop off point for the baby clothes and supplies is the Well Woman Center- 2571 Tower Drive, Suite 13 Monroe, LA.
