Carroll High School terminated interim head football coach Marvin Williams on Monday, July 21, 2025, according to a statement from Williams. The decision was made by the school’s new principal, Dr. Cassandra Shelling, during a meeting at the school office.
Williams was hired as interim head coach in August 2024, with the understanding that a permanent head coach would be named for the 2025 season.
In his one season leading the Bulldogs, the team achieved a 5-4 record, an improvement from the 3-7 record in 2023 under coach Garry Hines.
Notable wins included a 35-3 victory over North Webster on October 11 and a 26-16 win against Richwood on November 8. The team faced losses, including 7-34 to Sterlington and 29-50 to West Feliciana in the LHSAA Division II Non-Select playoffs.
The entire athletic staff, including three certified teachers, was also fired.
