Scripture Reading: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:9-10 KJV).
Greetings, my brothers and sisters in Christ!
Our hope remains anchored in Jesus Christ-our Way, our Truth, and our Life (John 14:6).
In these times, when discouragement presses on every side, let us stand as vessels of encouragement. Let us carry the good news boldly: Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, died for the sins of the world and rose again with all power on the third day.
But what about when doing good becomes draining? Perhaps you have poured your time, your heart, your finances, your prayers, into others, especially into fellow believers, and you feel exhausted. Maybe you have even thought about stepping away, wondering if your labor is in vain.
Interestingly, Paul’s encouragement to the Galatians brings forth light to us as well: “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9). The harvest is coming. Do not give up. Especially when serving those of the household of faith, our fellow believers, our obedience pleases God. Paul wrote this passage after reminding the church that “he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Galatians 6:8). The call here is not only to continue doing good, but to do so with an eternal view. The things we sow in the Spirit such as acts of kindness, generosity, service, prayer, carry everlasting value.
To make mention of, a teenage relative once asked me a heartfelt question. That is, “Why does it seem like people who do not believe in God, and who do not give, end up having more than those who do?” It is a valid observation. The surface can be deceiving. The world often rewards the wrong things. But I reminded her, and I remind you now, God’s promises are sure. Our reward is not only in material things, but when we sow to please God, we reap peace, joy, and spiritual blessings in this life eternally.
Therefore, as we are given opportunity, let us“do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Let us care for one another in the Body of Christ by encouraging, praying, giving, forgiving, and building each other up in love. In doing so, we reflect the very heart of our Savior. Remain steadfast, and in due season, you will reap. Grace and peace be with you always.
Jesus Saves!
