Deputies investigating Mother’s Day Graveyard fistfight

A physical altercation took place at a Monroe graveyard on Mother’s Day as two well-known Monroe men, Lebrone Robinson and Kenneth Wilson, engaged in a fist fight while visiting the graves of their loved ones.

The incident, which left Wilson with a potentially broken thumb, was reportedly connected to recent political tensions in the city.

What happened?

According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Department incident reports, both men called the police on each other, each claiming the other had initiated the fight. Robinson, the husband of city councilwoman Kema Dawson, stated that Wilson approached him with a “what’s up?” greeting, which led to a confrontation and Wilson swinging a closed fist at him. Robinson claims he retaliated by punching Wilson twice, sending him to the ground.
