Dust off your work gloves and clear out the clutter—spring cleaning season has officially arrived in Monroe.
The City of Monroe Public Works Department announced today the return of its annual spring cleanup initiative, “The BIG HAUL.” Starting next month, the city will offer free bulk trash pickup to residents every Saturday throughout April, with the first collections scheduled for April 4.
The program is designed to help residents dispose of large household items that don’t fit in standard weekly collections. Funding for the effort is provided by the federal Community Development Block Grant program.
What You Need to Know
To participate, residents must use an official green city trash container. The city has provided a specific list of what will—and will not—be accepted during the Saturday routes:

How to Schedule Your Pickup
Unlike standard trash services, “The BIG HAUL” requires residents to register in advance. To get on the schedule, you can use one of the following methods:
