Carroll High Medical Magnet Program hosted its Tenth Annual Pinning Ceremony on May 9, 2023, which was held in the auditorium. The guest speaker, Dr. Ashanti Franklin-Jones, Associate Program Director and Director of Clinical Education for ULM Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, was phenomenally awesome and shared with students the importance of “Tappin into Greatness.”
Thirty-nine students were pinned and received certificates of completion in a wide variety of disciplines. At present, fifteen of these students have already earned Industry Based Certifications. Ultimately, however, each of these students is on track to pursue a career in the medical field.
The certification opportunities currently offered to students enrolled in the Medical Magnet Program are Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Responders, Sports Medicine, Pharmacy Technician, and Dental Assistant. Also, while enrolled in these courses, each student earns their CPR certification.
To culminate the evening, a most elegantly grand banquet was held for the students with their parents as their guests, to celebrate their accomplishments. The meal was catered by Souled Foods Catering, Mr. Carlos Robinson, owner.
