Atty Sarah Smith named to SEDD Board

Attorney Sarah Smith has been unanimously approved by the Monroe City Council to join the Southside Economic Development District (SEDD) board.

The appointment, made by District 4 councilman Rodney McFarland, was confirmed on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

Atty Smith, daughter of former Judge James Garland Smith, marks the inclusion of a third woman on the board, signaling a step towards greater diversity and representation.

Smith, known for her extensive experience in complex litigation, will bring her legal expertise to the board, as it unfolds components of its ambitious plans for South Monroe.
