While viewing one of the local Sunday Morning Services, via social media, I witnessed and listened to the congregation giving “adorations” and “thank You’s” to a worthy God-to our Father who sits beyond the stars, the moon, and the clouds-our God who is the ruler of the universe and still has time to take care of all our needs.
As I listened attentively, in a small window of stillness and quietness, someone in the congregation shouted, “LORD, I JUST WANNA THANK YOU!!” And the adorations of His goodness began all over again. The congregants raised their hands, testified, worshipped, and honored God at an all time high where anyone who had been through something could bask in the testimony of their praises and adorations; then, join in sharing how He has been an awesome God in their lives. Even I began to yell at the phone and share my own adorations and praise. “What a mighty God we serve!”
Have you ever experienced “A Sunday Morning Holler” experience thanking God for His awesomeness? You knew that He had brought and carried you through some challenging times. The sickness that vexed your body, God healed it; the bill that needed to be paid, God made a way, out of no way; the job that was needed, God provided; even the door that was closed, God opened another door that was far better than the closed door. Yes, my friends, He deserves “A Sunday Morning Holler”.
This “Sunday Morning Holler” experience reminded me of the ten men who had leprosy and one returned to thank God for his healing. These ten men saw Jesus on His way to Jerusalem. According to Luke, “And they lifted up their voices and said, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’ So when He saw them, He said to them, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks” (Luke 17:11-16 NKJV). This man was grateful for his healing. Not only was he grateful, but he, also, expressed his gratitude to the One and only One who deserved the highest praise.
One important fact that we must note in the above-mentioned text is that, interestingly, the same loud voice that he used to ask for mercy, was the same loud voice that he used to thank Jesus for healing him. “If we can holler for his help, we should have no problem with “A Sunday morning holler for His awesomeness”.
