Dear Our HEAVENLY FATHER,
One Of YOUR children, “me” feels that the HOLY SPIRIT placed it on my heart to pray to YOU for all of YOUR ladies who are enduring the pangs and pains of chemotherapy and radiology treatments. They have been diagnosed as being victims of the much-feared diseased called cancer.
I believe the remembrances of it is sooooo heavy on my heart due to the fact that I understand their “plight” because I have been a cancer victim, also. It has taken me nineteen years until now (2021) to discuss it. In fact, I am teary-eyed while trying to write about it now. I shared my hesitancy to discuss with a close relative several years ago and she said, she felt that I was being selfish because my God-given testimony may encourage someone who was traveling down the same “bitter” and painful past as I. I agreed with her, but this is the first time I have attempted to openly, pray to YOU, FATHER about it.
I have prayed to YOU enumerable times for others and myself, but I am praying this time, openly, in this column and it is a “huge step” forward for me.
FATHER, YOU have guided YOUR medical staffs to use modern methods, which were not in existence during my trials. Statistically, I do not know whether the cancer survival rate is greater now than it was during the timeframe I was enduring by YOUR grace and mercy, the treatments in use during my diagnosis and treatments.
As YOU know, my family has lost several members due to its onslaught until a few weeks ago, I have been the only survival; however, for reasons unknown to me, YOU blessed me to be among YOUR chosen survivors. I lost co-workers who were in the chemotherapy designated area for treatment with me during the time I was there.
At present, we have a family member who has been recently classified as one of YOUR survivors. Thank YOU FATHER for that blessing and may YOU continue to not only bless my family, but the ladies who are suffering the pangs and uncertainties of going through treatments and fearful of their chances of survival.
Please FATHER not only grant YOUR ladies courage and strength, but their anxious and supportive families and friends, also. LORD, please continue to bless and guide YOUR medical staffs who patiently and hopefully administer treatments while many of them do not know whether efforts will be blessed by YOU with their patients’ survival and if so, how long? But, they persist in trying to save YOUR children’s lives.
Thank YOU, FATHER, for hearing and granting this YOUR child’s prayer
In YOUR SON’s JESUS NAME!
Love,
Jacquelyn Simmons
AMEN!
