• HB1 – CRIMINAL/JUSTICE: requires each clerk of court in the state responsible for criminal records to provide public electronic access to all criminal court matters, including any offense committed by a juvenile where the proceeding is open to the public (All records will be available for the public to view)
• HB6- CRIMINAL/PROCEDURE: Provides relative to the methods of execution and for confidentiality of records or information relating to the execution of a death sentence (Execution of a death sentence method includes: intravenous lethal injection, nitrogen hypoxia/gas, and electrocution.)
• HB7 – CRIMINAL/PENALTIES: Increases the penalties for the crime of carjacking (Imprisonment at hard labor ranges from 5 to 30 years; with a serious bodily injury, no benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.)
• HB8 – CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES: Provides relative to distribution of fentanyl to minors (25 to 99 year sentence of imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.)
• SB1- WEAPONS: the right of law-abiding citizens aged 18 & older to carry concealed handguns lawfully without a permit (In order to protect themselves.)
• SB3- PROBATION/PAROLE: Lowers the age for consideration as a juvenile in the criminal justice system (If you are 17 years of age and commit a misdemeanor, non-violent, or violent crime, you will be prosecuted in an adult court, not a juvenile court. If you are found guilty, you will go to an adult jail or prison, not a juvenile facility.)
