Thomas fired as civic center director, attorney claims witch hunt

The City of Monroe has fired Charles Thomas, the civic center’s director, but his attorney says Thomas was fired because he chose to do his job rather than participate in political games.
  Thomas was placed on administrative leave two months ago and escorted out by marshals in what he calls retaliation over politics between parties renting the civic center who were either friends or enemies of the mayor.
