They took my bike and my phone

Sunday evening a victim was riding his bike in the vicinity of 307 Vernon Street when the victim was accosted by two young men who like his bike and reportedly took it and the victim’s cell phone, too.

They didn’t get far because the cops caught them with the bike a short while later and slammed them both in jail.

The official police report put it this way:

On June 18, 2017, I CPL Anthony Walker was dispatched to 307 Vernon Street in reference to a strong armed robbery. Upon arrival, I spoke to the victim who said that two unknown Black Males pushed him off his light blue bicycle and took the bike and his phone with a black and green cover.

The two unknown B/M’s, Robert Crump, III and Wildarrius Ruff were located in the 3100 block of Dick Taylor. Both Crump and Ruff were advised of their Miranda rights which they both said they understood. Both were in possession of the above list bike.

I then located the above listed phone in the ditch between both Crump and Ruff at their feet. Both denied taking the bike and phone. Crump said he found the bike on Dick Taylor, Ruff said the bike was found on Lee Avenue.

The victim positively identified both Crump and Ruff as the B/M’s that took his items.

Both were charged with Simple Robbery a felony.
