Funeral services for a man who was well known in Monroe-Columbia area will be held Saturday.
Services for Solomon Butler, 63, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church. Butler departed this life on Monday, March 25, 2019.

Solomon Butler departed this life on Monday, March 25, 2019.
A resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana he was a Console Operator at Citgo Refinery for 39 years. Solomon was a graduate of Grambling State University and a New Orleans Saints fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Butler, one daughter, Sherronda Butler; one son, Sherrod Butler all of Lake Charles, LA.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Jessie Scott and Geraldine Butler of Dallas, TX,; Cynthia Woodfaulk of Monroe, LA.; one brother, Eric Butler of Corey, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gracie and Allen Butler, Sr., one sister; Gloria Page and one brother, Allen Butler, Jr.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 448 Blankston Rd., Columbia, LA. 71418.
