Thaddeous Bailey passed away on April 25, 2025.
Born in Monroe, Louisiana, Thaddeous was the beloved son of the late Wallace Bailey of Monroe and the late Joyce Franklin McCrutcheon of Calhoun. From a young age, Thaddeous embraced faith as his guiding light, accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of five at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Sibley, Louisiana.
He was known throughout the community not just for his warm, welcoming spirit, but for his powerful voice and his love for gospel music. Singing was his ministry, and he poured his heart into every note with groups including the Monroe Mass Choir, St. Paul Baptist Adult Choir, Servants of Praise, BDM Praise Team, and the Philadelphia Male Chorus. Whether in worship or in daily life, Thaddeous carried the joy of the Lord with him and shared it freely.
He worked faithfully as a forklift operator for Wagner Logistics, LLC, where he was admired for his diligence and dedication. Thaddeous never met a stranger, was always ready to crack a joke, and had a way of lighting up every room with his infectious laughter. His favorite saying, “It’s truly a beautiful thang!” was a reflection of the gratitude and joy that defined his life.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Hosie Bill Franklin, Sr. and Blanche Lee Duncan Franklin Carter; uncles Clarence Bailey, Jr. and Hosie Bill “PeeWee” Franklin, Jr.; aunts Brenda Bailey, Helen Davis, and Helen Faye Franklin; and great-uncle Alvin “Uncle Pitt” Duncan.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Sonya Flintroy-Bailey, and his cherished son, Aren D. Flintroy of Monroe. He is also survived by his twin brothers, Eric Wayne Bailey of Monroe and Derrick Tyrone Bailey of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Shonta Nicole Scott of Houston, Texas; and a special nephew, Marcus “Mr. B” Scott of Dallas. Thaddeous will also be lovingly remembered by his aunts Shirley Ann (Larry) Hargrove, Norma “May” (Van) Turner, Patricia (Sammie) Dennis, and Catherine Franklin Payne; special cousins Paula “Pam” Jackson, Viretta “BayBay” Bailey, and Kendi “LuLu” Ford; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McFarland Funeral Companies.
