Rev. Harold McCoy, has been named to replace the late Rev. John L. Russell, Sr. on the Ouachita Parish School Board.
The Reverend Russell died last month after serving 33 years on the board.
The Reverend McCoy is a veteran community leader who has served both as a community activist and an elected school board member. He served several terms on the Monroe City School Board and served as Board President.
He will serve until a permanent replacement is elected in the fall of this year.
