OUR City——Our Community

By Marie Brown

Freedom of speech is a fundamental right that allows individuals to express their opinions and ideas without fear of government interference, censorship, or punishment.  This is protected by law in many countries, including the United States through the First Amendment.

Over the last couple of months, I have expressed my opinions concerning issues and matters nationally, statewide, and locally.  This includes, but is not limited to, my views on political policies and issues, and will continue without fear of government reprisal.  However, while strongly protected, freedom of speech is not without exceptions.  I will not engage in inciting violence, defamation and obscenity.

People are calling, texting, and emailing their appreciation for the information they are reading.  However, I do have those who do not agree with some of the content.

I will continue to provide informational messages on our country, state, and community in this space to those who take the time to read it.  Our country is in a state of panic.  More than words will take us all to a better place.  When we take action to improve our community, we can continue to “Love where we Live and Live where we Love.”
