Riser Elementary School
Yellow Tie Member of the Black Tie Guys
Hello everyone, I hope you will enjoy this week’s article. This week, I will write about fun facts,
such as sports, books, a BTG meeting, and a BTG member.
Fun Facts about Sports
There are many fun facts about sports. One of them is that sports have been played on the
moon: golf by Astronaut Alan Shepard who swung a six iron on the moon. Boxing used to be illegal in the United States. This next one is
simply insane; Minoru Yoshita has done 10,507 non-stop push-ups. Here’s one more I bet you
didn’t know: Golf balls have 366 dimples.
Books
There are many great books, but the ones I will discuss are the ones most people say are their
favorite. Some of these favorite books include My Side of The Mountain, Spy X Family, Percy
Jackson, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and many others as well. What is your favorite
book?
BTG Meeting

On July 1st, there was a Black Tie Guys meeting. In this meeting, we discussed many stories
about black history. One of these facts included Henrietta Lacks, who had cells that were taken
out of her without her consent. After this happened, they realized that her cells never died,
even to this day, and they called them HELA cells. Another Discussion was about the upcoming
BTG trip to Atlanta, Tuskegee and beyond.
BTG Member

success and knowledge. He anticipates a bright future with hopes of graduating the class of
2031 from Wossom High School.
