BTG-Blue Tie
Hey there, everyone! Julius Brown here, and I’ve got some exciting things to share with you this week.
We’ll be talking about the recent BTG meeting, a special BTG member, VBS, and even leap years. So, let’s dive in!
First up, the Black Tie Guys had a super interesting meeting on Monday, June 5th. We learned all about how to deliver mail and the importance of zip codes. Did you know that zip codes help machines read your address even if you have messy handwriting like me? It’s pretty cool! We also learned that when you’re

sending a letter, you should put the receiver’s address and zip code in the middle of the page, while your own name and zip code go in the top left corner.
Next, I want to introduce you to an awesome BTG – Yellow Tie member, Prince Elijah Gipson. Born on November 27, 2012, in Monroe, Louisiana, Prince is a super smart and hardworking 6th grader at Lakeshore Elementary School. He’s an honor student who loves learning new things and pushing himself to be the best he can be. I have a feeling that one day, Prince will be a billionaire that everyone knows about!
Now, let’s talk about VBS. For those who don’t know, VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. At Solomon Temple Baptist Church, they had a different word that they focused on each day of the week. They talked about faith, endurance, courage, and trust. These are all really important things to have in your life. When you have faith and trust in God, you know that He’ll always be there for you. Courage helps you stand up for what’s right, and endurance reminds you that God’s timing is perfect, even if it’s not what you expect.
Last but not least, let’s chat about leap years. A leap year is a special year that has an extra day in February. And guess what? This year is a leap year! So, when your birthday comes around, make sure to tell everyone that you deserve an extra day of celebration and an extra dollar in your pocket.
Well, that’s all for now, folks. I hope you enjoyed learning about all these different things with me. Remember to keep being awesome, and I’ll catch you next week with more exciting news!
Your friend, Julius Brown
