Kids Korner with Julius Brown

Hey Guys! It’s your pal Julius Brown, and I’ve got some exciting news to share with you this week. We’ll be talking about the BTG meeting, advancements, a special member named Larry Johnson, and VBS. So, let’s dive in!

First up, the Black Tie Guys (BTG) had a super cool meeting on Tuesday, May 28. Each member talked with mentors about their life plans and how they’re going to make them happen. Everyone took a self-evaluation and shared what the BTG oath means to them. They even got scores based on their own answers!

When you join the group, you start as a purple tie. As you earn points through community service, school grades, travel and photo networking, you move up to yellow tie, then blue, red, and finally, the ultimate goal: “Black Tie”! Some new members have already earned a Yellow Tie.

Some of our yellow-tie guys will be moving up to BlueTie level this summer. Keep up the great work, guys!

Now, I want to introduce you to an awesome BTG member, Larry Johnson. Born on December 2, 2014, to Crystal Allen and Raymond Lewis, Larry is a natural star in football and basketball. He goes to Madison James Foster Elementary and has big plans to graduate from Neville High School in 2034. Keep an eye out for this rising star!

Last but not least, let’s talk about VBS. For those who don’t know, VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. It’s a time when churches give children (and even adults!) a chance to learn more about God. Solomon Temple Baptist Church has VBS for ages four to one hundred, so there’s something for everyone. If your church has VBS, give it a try; you might just have a blast!

Well, that’s all for now, folks. Remember to keep being awesome, and I’ll catch you next week with more exciting news!

Your friend, Julius Brown
