Laterius Ballard

What’s up, everyone? It’s your boy, Julius Brown, back with another article. This week, I want to talk about my good friend Latarius Ballard and the awesome stuff he’s been up to with the Black Tie Guys (BTG).

First things first, let me introduce you to Latarius. This dude was born on September 29, 2010. He loves to play Football, and he’s an absolute beast when it comes to virtual gaming. He is also a master tactician with a Play Station 5 controller in hand. His ability to strategize and execute plays in the virtual world translates into his studies and other pursuits. Shout out to his amazing mom, Sherra Page, for raising such a talented guy. Latarius is currently killing it at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School, and I know he’s got a bright future ahead of him.

ULM Professor Robert Wright talked with BTG members about music

Now, let’s talk about the BTG meeting. We had this super cool visitor who came through and dropped some knowledge about different types of music and how you can actually make money from it. His name is Robert Wright. Get this: as a kid, this guy played the piano like a pro. He’s got an ear for music and can read it too. That’s a serious skill because when you play by ear, you’re doing it your way, but when you read music, you gotta follow the rules. Oh, and did I mention he’s also a history professor at ULM? Mad respect.

Next up is the BTG trip to the haunted Myrtles Plantation. This place is straight-up spooky. We went there on Thursday, May 23, and let me tell you about the most famous ghost, Chloe. She used to be a Nanny for the kids, but she was always eavesdropping by the meeting room door. One day, she fell through the door during a meeting, and the master had to punish her. He cut off her ear by the water fountain. Crazy, right? People say she still haunts the plantation to this day. Some say they see her when they visit. Spooky!

Last but not least, I gotta talk about a great app called Bandlab. If you’re trying to make your own music, this is the perfect tool.

It’s super easy to use, and there are tons of options for making beats and using virtual instruments. If you need help, they’ve got tutorials too. And if you really want to take your music to the next level, you can upgrade to a VIP membership. That way, your tracks can blow up on YouTube, Spotify, and all the other streaming platforms.

That’s it for this week, family. I hope you enjoyed reading about Latarius, Professor Wright, and all the cool stuff the BTG has been up to.

Stay blessed, and I’ll catch you next time!

Peace out, Julius Brown
