Gilmore’s law license restored by Supreme Court

Attorney Arthur Gilmore was readmitted to the Bar last week on order of the Louisiana Supreme Court, allowing him to resume his life and profession.
In 2013 Gilmore, a former city councilman was convicted of a federal crime and served a sentence in a Federal Penitentiary. In 2016 the Supreme Court Disbarred him.

Thanks to testimony and support from local attorneys, judges, and others, Gilmore’s disbarment was reconsidered by the Court.

He has been placed on three years supervised probation; after which he will permanently retain his law license.

The Supreme Court acted on a recommendation from the state Attorney Disciplinary Board.
