Funeral services for a Monroe soldier who died last week, are scheduled for next week.
The funeral service for Mi’key Reese, Sr. of Monroe, who died last week in Norfolk Virginia, will be held Wednesday, June 5th at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with Roosevelt Wright, Jr. officiating. Rev. Ike Byrd is the pastor of Mt. Zion.
Reese’s death has been determined to have been caused by a self-inflicted wound.
Reese, a 2012 Neville High School graduate, and a member of the United States Navy was found dead, an apparent suicide victim. At last report, Reese held the E-4 rank.
He was an active member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, an Eagle Scout and a member of the world famous Top Gun Time Travelers before enlisting in the Navy.
He is the father of two children.
Family repast will be held at the Tab-A-Torium on 9th Street.
