Cuddos to the African American Museum for a great end of 2017

Dear editor,

I did not know about the African American museum until some short time ago. I had no idea that it had all that to offer.

It is a place filled with history. My husband and I are always looking for family-oriented places to go.

Also, it’s nice to have places that offer events for adults.

I attended the last three events at the museum.

I was moved by the 911 salutatory that not only recognized national first responders but our local first responders.

I was blown away with the follow-up event- An Evening with the General. After that, the Christmas party appreciating the donors and an explosive Kwanzaa ended the year.

The African experience, as with other cultures, should be appreciated by all races.

That said, I was impressed with the racially-mixed audience, particularly in these harsh times.

It gives hope that we all can work together. In summary, I want to say thank you to the leadership of the African American Museum.

I’m looking forward to 2018!!!
