Friday Services set for Cornelius Cole, 26

Services for Cornelius Cole will be held Saturday, December 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church, 5510 US Highway 165 S.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McFarland Funeral Companies, 1901 Burg Jones Lane. McFarland Funeral Companies is handling arrangements.

Cornelius Cole, 26, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on November 22, 2024, at Ochsner Hospital. Born June 12, 1998, in Monroe to Sonya Antionette Cole and Cordell Dewayne Bowie, Cornelius was known for his respectful nature and kind heart. His love for basketball led him to play for both the Riser Mustangs and West Monroe Rebels.

A man of faith, Cornelius accepted Christ at Whites Ferry Road under the leadership of Mike Kellet. His vibrant presence brought joy to those around him, and his caring, considerate nature touched many lives.

He leaves behind his beloved children: daughter Ailani Brown of Baton Rouge; sons Cornelius Jr., Cormelo, and Cordarrious Cole, all of Monroe; and his fiancée, Michal Hill of Monroe. He is also survived by his mother, Sonja Jackson (Lester); father, Cordell Bowie of West Monroe; grandmother Patricia Ann Cole of Monroe; sisters Shaterica Cole, Tierre Cole, Tamara Collins, Ciara Spencer, and Jasky Rhone (Tay); and brothers Cordell Cole Jr., Cordarrion Cole, Cordell Collins (Dayshon), and Keldrick Hines.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thelma Jean Bowie and Eddy Cropprue, and maternal great-grandmother, Georgie Mae Cole.
