As you may or may not know, anime is a pretty big thing for us kids out in this world. We have drama anime’s, romance, action, mystery, the same genres you’d have in movie categories. I know for most people that don’t watch anime, you’re pretty much clueless about what in the world is going on and how a dog can wield a sword and all but trust us, it’s actually pretty interesting. Those of us that watch anime and can pretty much vibe with it, we’re weebs, practically a group that is one unit. Let’s get one thing settled though, Anime and Cartoons are not the same thing. That’s like saying One Punch Man is the same as Johnny Bravo or comparing Sword Art Online to Samurai Jack. They are not the same even though some would say “It’s just a japanese cartoon”, no it is not. Japan has cartoons that are a whole different category to anime so that’s entirely wrong.
That would be like someone trying to say the cartoons we have here in America are another type of “anime” in another country when we all know that it’s not. Cartoons just don’t have the same vibes or drawing details as anime. They are mainly childishly drawn, sometimes weird looking or just simple details. Anime on the other hand has outstanding drawn characters, and great detail. I know some fellow legends may ask about the original Teen Titans and how it was well drawn and had good detail as well and my answer to that is, you’re not wrong there. Cartoons just hold a lot of goofiness whereas it flickers here and there in anime. Another thing that draws a line between cartoon and anime is that anime often doesn’t censor gory scenes where on the other hand cartoons would just forbid it because their audience consist of kids. Either way they are both great things to watch that we can be thankful to watch from the people that take the time to actually draw it out frame by frame. Let me know which is your preferred favorite.
