Basketball has helped to make popular the phrase, “home-court advantage”. The home team has the support of the crowd and this can lift them emotionally. We always do better when people are cheering for us on the sidelines. When I ran my first 5k race over 10 years ago, my daughters made signs saying, “Go Daddy” and “ You got this”. This encouraged me to run even faster. Loyal cheering supporters do make a difference. Having the home-court advantage is important in sports and in the family. Family members that stand behind and support each other allow each member to become more successful in life.
Denzel Washington said, “ A wise woman knows the importance of speaking life into her man. If you love him: believe in him, encourage him and be his peace.” Whether in Madison Square Garden or in the family, loyal cheering supporters make a difference. Believe in yourself. You have what it takes. You got this!
