Ahh, Christmas. It comes around once a year and brings joy and lots of gift-giving. Generosity is the reason for the holiday season. It is the most wonderful time of the year. We do not have to go into debt trying to show family members how much we love them. Holiday debt, along with the anxiety of overspending can impact the relationships in a family. Every transaction you make with your credit card will drag you further and further into debt. Christmas debt should not follow you in the new year. Do you realize that paying the minimum payment on 1,000 worth of credit card debt at 16% interest will take five years to pay off?
A merry Christmas does not depend on how much money you spend, it’s about the people you are sharing time with and the memories you are creating along the way. Have a safe and debt-free Christmas.
