Dear Hearts,
It is in the name of Jesus that I greet you! He is our Savior who died and was risen from the grave so that you and I may bask in Eternal Life. Thank you, Jesus, for saving our souls.
Have you ever had to wait for an answer when trying to purchase a house or a vehicle? Have you waited on the doctor to share the results of a specific test that you needed? What about persons in our lives that may have had to wait on a kidney or heart transplant in order to obtain a quality of life that they greatly desired. What do you do when you have been called or assigned to ‘wait’?
I recall many years ago, my husband and I were purchasing our first brand new car. After the application process, we had to wait for an answer to see if we had obtained approval. Of course, this was our first-time seeking approval for a big purchase such as a vehicle. So, we had to wait to determine if the creditor would approve us for a car loan. We waited for three (3) hours for a final approval. In the interim, we silently prayed, drank coffee/sodas, walked around and looked at other vehicles and silently dreamed to own them one day. After a three hour wait, the gentleman returned and shared that we had been approved to purchase our first car, a white 1991 Pontiac LeMans. The waiting was not easy, but it was profitable.
As a biblical point of reference, John recorded the time when Jesus healed a lame man who sat by the pool of Bethesda. He sat among people who were blind, paralyzed, sick, etc, waiting for the moving of the water. “For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.” When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” Then Jesus heals him, (John 5 NKJV).
Of course, this man had been in this condition for thirty-eight years, waiting for a healing. In his assignment to ‘wait’, Jesus had an opportunity to heal him receiving glory and later ridicule for His actions. Have you been assigned to wait? Waiting on God is not always easy; but when he shows up, He gets the glory. Therefore, when you have been assigned to wait, wait with patience and endurance.
When you have been assigned to wait, understand that waiting may not be easy, but it is profitable.
