The Northeast Louisiana region was hit by a massive storm that included high winds and reported tornado touchdowns, intense enough to be reported on National News.
The storm that swept through Monroe Wednesday was reported on ABC News Wednesday.
In its aftermath there were power outages reported throughout the area including nearly 1,500 homes without power south of Lake Cheniere; nearly 2,000 homes are without power in the Downsville area; nearly 1,000 without power in Winn Parish; nearly 5,000 customers are without power in the Monroe and West Monroe area.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm brought heavy rainfall of up to six inches in some areas, flash flooding and high winds that toppled trees around Northeast and Central Louisiana as well as Northwest Louisiana, East Texas and Northeast Texas.
There were no reported fatalities.
