Regular Meeting Minutes

Members In Attendance: Alderman Simeon Profit, Alderman Janice Fleming Alderman Wysinger Cleveland
The Town of Richwood met for a Regular Meeting held January 15, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. at the Richwood Multi-Purpose Center, 2710 Martin Luther King Drive, Richwood, Louisiana to consider the following business:
I. Meeting Called to Order 7:01 P.M.
II. Prayer by Mr. Nathan Brown
III. Pledge of Allegiance in unison
IV. Roll Call: All (3) Aldermen Present at Roll Call
Absent: Alderman Deneitra Ross and Alderman Donald Richard
V. Adoption of the Agenda:
It was motioned by Alderman Janice Fleming and seconded by Alderman Simeon Profit to adopt the agenda as presented.
- The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt the agenda as presented with the following results: (3) Votes Yes to Adopt the agenda.

VI. Adoption of March 19, 2026, Regular Meeting Minutes
It was moved by Alderman Janice Fleming and seconded by Alderman Simeon Profit to adopt the March 19, 2026, Regular Meeting Minutes.
- The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt the March 19, 2026, Regular Meeting Minutes with the following results: (3) Yes Votes to adopt.

VII. Adoption of Financial Reports
It was motioned by Alderman Janice Fleming and seconded by Alderman Wysinger Cleveland to adopt the Financial Reports as presented.

IX. Mayor s Dialogue: Mayor Gerald Brown advised the forum of the following updates.
Mayor Gerald Brown advised the forum of the following town events.
The Town of Richwood Annual Spring Cleanup Event will take place on Saturday, April 18th. This event will be in conjunction with the Love the Boot Cleanup.
Coffee & Conversation Business Alliance Meeting- will take place at 10:00 a.m. on April 21st, at the Richwood Multipurpose Center.
The Lupus Walk Event will take place on Saturday, April 25, starting at the Richwood Multipurpose Center
Also, on Saturday, April 25, there will be a Live Well Delta Event presented by Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, which will be in the parking lot of Mac s Fresh Market and will be providing Cancer Screenings.
The Louisiana Baptist Children s Home Diaper & Wipe Drive- this will take place from April 13 through May 10th. We will be collecting diapers & wipes and placing them in the collection box that is positioned in the entry area.
On April 20th, the Water line project is set to begin replacing the water lines in the Old Richwood area.
Also, the Grant Gumbo 2.0 project to improve broadband is taking place and should take approximately 30-60 days.
Phase 2 of the Sidewalk Project from Ollie Burns Library to MLK is going out for bid.
X. Pledge fulfillment to SOS Pets (this was agreed upon on May 17, 2018) The pledged funds were presented to SOS Pets.
XI. Adoption of Ordinance 2026=-02 An ordinance amending Ordinance 2024-06 amending the Board of Aldermen Monthly Compensation
It was motioned by Alderman Janice Fleming and seconded by Alderman Simeon Profit to adopt Ordinance 2026-02, an ordinance amending Ordinance 2024-06, amending the Board of Aldermen’s Monthly Compensation.
- The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt Ordinance 2024-06 with the following result as follows: (3) Yes Votes to adopt. Alderman Simeon Profit Yes Alderman Janice Fleming Yes Alderman Wysinger Cleveland Yes
XII. Resolution 2026-02 ( A resolution allowing the Town to enter into an agreement with CERES and TETRA TECH regarding the debris caused by Winter Storm Fern)
It was motioned by Alderman Wysinger Cleveland and seconded by Alderman Janice Fleming to adopt Resolution 2026-02 ( A resolution allowing the Town to enter into an agreement with CERES and TETRA TECH regarding the debris caused by Winter Storm Fern.
- The record shall reflect that a vote was taken to adopt Resolution 2026-02 with the following results: All (3) Aldermen present voted Yes to Adopt Resolution 2026-02. Alderman Simeon Profit Yes Alderman Janice Fleming Yes Alderman Wysinger Cleveland Yes
