Timeline begins for approval of Neville conversion to charter school

The Neville Charter Association (NCA) has submitted an application to convert the historic Neville High School into a Type 3 charter school within the Monroe City School System, a move that would redirect approximately $10 million in annual state funding to the charter organization while maintaining the school’s connection to the district.

In a significant show of support, 74% of Neville’s faculty voted in favor of the conversion on October 22, with 51 teachers supporting the move, 18 opposing, and 4 abstaining. The vote was overseen by CPA Brian Robinson of Marcus, Robinson, and Hassell.
