Three named Principals of the Year

The Ouachita Parish School System named its 2025 principals of the year this week. They are Doll Ann Johnson of Sterlington High, Deborah Brown of Richwood Middle School, and Angela Spivey of Robinson Elementary School.

The role of a principal requires a unique blend of leadership and compassion. These three are saluted as visionaries who see possibilities where others see challenges. They are instructional leaders who elevate teaching, inspire excellence, and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

As principals, they must coordinate countless moving pieces such  as curriculum design, mentorship for teachers, student support, family engagement, budgeting, and community partnerships, all while maintaining a positive and encouraging presence.

The district celebrates their hard work and the work of all principals. The community joins the school board’s salute by saying, “Well Done,” keep up the good work.
