I am writing this letter because I am appalled by what is going on and how people are treated we often say there are two different worlds, black, and white. There are also two different justice systems The haves and The have nots. I was told anyone arrested that went to Ouachita Parish Sheriff Department had to be on the website Cela and in the Justified paper and even in the Free Press and The Ouachita Citizen. On Tuesday, March 2nd two prominent doctors were arrested, for drug charges one black female Cynthia Brown Manning and one white female Dr. Barbara Beard. About an hour later the charges, affidavits, and pictures had disappeared, just so happened I took screenshots, is it fair that the Haves can commit crimes and nobody knows of them? What makes them so different or special from everyone else? If a regular “have not” person is arrested for as little as a failure to appear on a traffic charge they are on Cela so I’m not understanding?
Perhaps because Cynthia Brown Manning’s cousin Reginald Manning is the captain at the Pea Farm (OCC) that he took her off of Cela and if he took her off he had to do the same for Dr. Barbara Beard?
I was told per Sheriff Russell everyone had to go on Cela but again I guess that only applies to the “Have nots”… the only thing that makes us different from them is their Dr. title and their bank account because we all bleed the same. All the people that have been arrested and scandalized, talked about, etc., and been on Cela and various news outlets should be outraged that this happened?
I even went back and typed in David Burkett who was a Dr. with similar charges who was arrested in September of 2020 and he is still on the site so tell me how did these two get to be so privileged as to be taken off and were Dr.’s at Ochsner Monroe, Dr. Beard left and went elsewhere but was a Dr. there for many years. We need answers, Ouachita Parish, what you do for one you need to do for both, even the Bible says one sin is no worse than the other, sin is sin.
