Services for LaKenna Shanta Dickson will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Saint Paul Baptist Church of Monroe.
Ms. Dickson, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 50.
Born on October 2, 1973, in Monroe, LA, to Alton Dickson and Debra Ann White Dickson, LaKenna was a lifelong resident of the area.
LaKenna grew up in the Booker T. neighborhood and was a proud graduate of Carroll High School, Class of 1994. She furthered her education at Cloyd’s Beauty School, which led to her career as a hair stylist. LaKenna was also employed at St. Francis Medical Center and Fredrick M. Services, where she was known for her dedication and warm personality.
A loving mother and grandmother, LaKenna leaves behind three children: Marlo, Courtney, and Alexis Dickson, all of Monroe, LA. She is also survived by her sisters, Shanuta Dickson and Aimee Jordan; brothers, Alton Dickson and Carlos Dickson; and eight cherished grandchildren: London, Andrew, Marcelo, Drew Aubrey, Honey, Corbin, Armoni, and Skylah. LaKenna also leaves behind a host of other relatives, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
LaKenna was preceded in death by her father, Alton Dickson, and her brother, Robby Dickson.
