Funeral services for local attorney Clara Etta Toombs were held Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church.
Toombs died Tuesday, August 18, 2021
Toombs was a prominent attorney who spent many years defending the poor in local courts. An activist, she was involved in civic activities and causes that would promote harmony and unity. She was a member of the NAACP, the SouthSide Economic Development Advisory Board and several community improvement organizations.
