Remember, Jesus is always a follower on your social media page

My Christian Friends,

First of all, it is a blessing to be able to share with you once again what God has placed on my heart. I am truly grateful to Him for allowing me to see a new year. Happy New Year to all of you!
Secondly, now that God has given us another chance, our beginning of the new year practices as well as future practices throughout the year must be handled with care. Do not be deceived, everything that we do or say is known by God. In fact, He is always listening and watching. The psalmist, David, sings in Psalm 139 (NCV), “Lord, you have examined me and know all about me.

You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them. You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do. Lord, even before I say a word, you already know it.” So, whatever we post or desire to post on social media, Jesus knows it.

Admittedly, I am not a member of anyone’s social media page, and I am not entirely anti-social media. I truly believe that social outreach can really be a great resource to help invite people to Christ. However, what bothers me and probably many other Christian believers is the way that it is misused by many.

It is very disappointing to hear of how some Christians conduct themselves openly on social media. Even though social media participants may choose their followers, they must be cognizant of the fact that Jesus is always a follower. Our conduct should not only be governed by His principles and standard during church services but also, through our social media conversations and our daily living.

My friends, I truly believe that this is not the first time that we have heard this type of message. However, we must truly give attention to our conduct/behavior in everything we do in order to bring others to Christ.

Lastly, it seems to me that we believe that the world is hurting our children with their philosophies, but we are playing a part in it as well. How? Every time we post negatively or comment on things that are not Godly on social media, our children see it as well. Alternatively, the Bible teaches us to be followers of Christ. The Bible reminds us that, “There must be no evil talk among you, and you must not speak foolishly or tell evil jokes…Instead, you should be giving thanks” (Ephesian 5:4 NCV).

“Remember, Jesus is always a follower on your social media page.”
