Push, pull, or drag

By Rusty Potter

We remember the old car commercial that said they would take your trade-in if you could “push, pull, or drag your car on the lot. They were determined to sell you are car. They were creating their own opportunities. The people who are the most successful in life are the ones who create their own opportunities in life. Not all good opportunities will just come your way, some you have to make happen. Success may not just come around the corner. You must wake up early, show up, and work hard for it.

When I trained for the New Orleans Marathon, I would wake up at 4 am to do a 10-mile run before work. A moonlight run would turn into a sunrise run. It was all about hard work, sweat, and tears. I was hungry, determined, and willing to create my own opportunities. I successfully completed the 26.2-mile race. Vince Lombardi said, ” The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” Remember, success is a choice that you must make happen. Push, pull, or drag the choice is up to you to make it happen. Every day is a new day and a new opportunity for you to make it happen.
