When Roosevelt Wright answered his door Sunday, a great surprise smiled on his face. “Surprise, Surprise,” said Christopher James, who embraced Roosevelt and his wife Joslyn and said, “I just came by to say thank you.” James is now an award-winning school principal in Chatanooga, TN.
Thirty years ago, James was a member of Top Gun Troop 65, where Wright served as scoutmaster.
James said his seven years as a Top Gun influenced his direction in life, especially the summer travels across the USA, training, and organizational skills he learned.
James says now he incorporates travel and many of the values he learned as a scout in Monroe into his school program in Tennessee.
James said, “I just want to say thanks to both of you.” He took a picture, met his family, and returned to Tennessee.
James is one of 51 Eagle Scouts produced by Troop 65.
