Police and Sheriff’s deputies were busy over the last week searching for suspects and piecing together the details of three shooting in the city and parish.
On Sunday, Demesha Hines was reportedly murdered in a shooting incident on S. 7th Street. Monroe police have arrested Jaishadion Sullivan on one count of 2nd Degree Murder and one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder in connection with the shooting. He has been booked into the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center with no bond.
The officers responsible for the arrest were praised for Sullivan’s apprehension by city officials.
Meanwhile Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating a shooting that happened on Saturday, August 3rd.
Deputies report going to scene of McDonald’s at Hwy. 165 and Finks Hideaway Road Saturday morning to investigate after a woman was shot and killed. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Kengarica Jones.
No suspect had been arrested as of Wednesday.
Authorities are calling a shooting that happened Saturday a drive by shooting. According to the sheriff’s office, this was a drive-by shooting. OPSO reported that the occupants of a vehicle drove by a home and fired several rounds. Three people at the home were injured in the shooting.
According to OPSO, none of the injuries were life-threatening. All of the victims in this shooting received medical treatment. The incident happened on Sweetwood Drive in the Tanglewood Heights Subdivision.
