God saw J.D. was getting tired and put his arms around him and whispered: “Come my son”. On December 3, 2019, we watched as he faded from our midst.
J.D. was born to Beulah Reitzell and Robert Rice, April 24, 1928, in Reverton, LA. J.D. worked at Olin Kraft later named Riverwood for a total of 33 years. He touched the lives of many with his endless jokes and compassion for words. He married Vera Foster and to that union, eight children were conceived.
J.D has now joined his parents four children James Ray Rice, Edna Rice, and a set of twin boys, step-father E.W. Lindsey, uncles, aunts, sisters, and brother.
He leaves behind his children: Eddie Rice, Debora McCaa (Johnny), Robert Rice, and Kenneth Rice (Angela Marie), James Huey and Ann Latchison, one brother E.W. Lindsey Jr., five sisters: Margie Shorts, Sadie James, Jurelin Jackson, Beulah Lindsay, and Jackie Young, a very loving and devoted friend Lula Dobbins, a tribe of great and grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
