Local school districts have begun rolling out professional education appointments for the upcoming school year, with several key positions filled across both the Ouachita Parish and Monroe City school systems. However, decisions on who will lead Carroll and Neville High Schools remain pending.
Monroe City Schools Superintendent Rev. Sam Moore, III confirmed Wednesday that a decision on the new principal for Carroll High School will be made during the week of July 14, 2025.
While a well-attended public forum was held to introduce the finalists to the community, Moore stated that formal interviews with the three contenders—Rev. Ronald Green, Shirley Neal, and Dr. Cassandra Shelling—have not yet been conducted.
“The Human Resources Department is working to schedule the interviews,” said Rev. Moore. “We want to be thorough and thoughtful in our process.”
